Safety, Comfort & Peace of Mind

A Cotter Safaris trip is planned with comfort, pacing, safety, and practical support in mind. The tour is especially suited to older travellers who want a well-managed Kruger experience without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Safety and guiding

Michael Cotter is a qualified guide with FGASA Level 2, full trails guide experience, first aid training, firearm competency, tourism guide registration, PDP, and additional industry qualifications including SASSETA and THETA. His background includes work with dangerous game, guiding, tracking, guest hosting, game drives, and bush walks.

The vehicles used for guest transport will be licensed for passenger transport, and drivers will have valid PDPs. Public liability insurance is part of the planning, and guests are required to arrange their own travel insurance.

Guests will be asked to disclose relevant medical or mobility needs before booking. A first-aid kit will be carried, and Michael has First Aid Level 2 training. Skukuza has doctors on standby should medical support be required during the trip.

Comfort features / the tour includes:

                                                                         very little physical activity,

                                                                         scheduled rest periods between drives,

                                                                         assistance with luggage,

private rooms at Skukuza Safari Lodge,

                                                                         bottled water,

                                                                         blankets,

                                                                         a slower senior-friendly pace,

optional rest if guests prefer not to join every drive.

Because the safari takes place in a wild environment and may include dangerous game areas, guests will be required to sign the necessary indemnity forms before travel. Cotter Safaris will provide clear terms and conditions before deposits are taken.
